The Newport Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dumplin Valley kicked off the Memorial Day weekend with a bang! As part of the 14th Annual Golf Tournament, Hole 13 hosted an AR golf ball launch in lieu of driving the ball. One of many additions to the growing tournament, the AR hole made the Tourney one of the most exciting and successful fundraising events of the year.  Area business owners & Club supporters joined together at the Smoky Mountain Country Club to play a round for the kids. As one of the Newport Branch’s main fundraisers, this event serves almost 600 Cocke County children and is an integral part of supporting the quality programming of the Boys & Girls Clubs & the needs of the children it serves all summer.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Dumplin Valley is a place to become…. anything your child can imagine growing up to be! The staff works daily to foster young people’s integrity and good character, their ability to make positive life choices, their belief that they can bring about positive change in their communities, and their compassion and willingness to serve others. Through the summer, the Clubs continue this mission by offering  members a safe, constructive environment in which to enjoy their summer!  The Newport Branch plays an important role in providing a safe space to exercise, compete in team sports, participate in fieldtrips and establish lifelong friendships among many other exciting activities that happen all summer long.

Fundraisers such as the Annual Golf Tournament make it possible to continue to provide this safe space for Cocke County kids, afterschool and throughout the summer.
